Ruth Asawa at David Zwirner

Ruth Asawa: All Is Possible

At David Zwirner’s 537 West 20th Street location, the gallery is presenting an exhibition of the late artist Ruth Asawa, titled “All Is Possible.” Open through December 18, Helen Molesworth has organized an environment where Asawa’s well known looped-wire sculptures exist within a landscape of the artist’s drawings and less common sculptural forms. One of the most expansive looks at Asawa’s work to date, viewers will experience aspects of her practice that have gone unrecognized—seen through a selection of artworks including her everyday still lives, the “open-window” forms from the 1960s, and drawings featuring the artist’s “meander” motif.
