To describe Sitara Abuzar Ghaznawi’s exhibition “LOVE/ terms and conditions” at Galerie Maria Bernheim, Shamiran Istifan and Lhaga Koondhor have written a text musing on thoughts like “No time for your crocodile tears” as a manifesto, “Intimate vulnerability is strength,” and “You wanna spend the nights with me or only with the idea of me?” On view in the show are new works including a series of mixed media creations on wood named in a succession of episodes—like Episode 1 (Acting Elite)—which tell a story through framed elements like fabric, distressed clothing, and scraps of paper, and a series called “Family Intervention,” which present as colorful ropes of material hanging from the ceiling, and have each been assigned a person’s name as part of the title.
