Open at Tate Modern through November 21, “The Making of Rodin” dives into the unconventional sculpting practice of Auguste Rodin. Part of The EY Tate Arts Partnership, the exhibition demonstrates how Rodin’s practice often ignored the rules set in place surrounding classical sculpture, capturing the human body in a manner that is relevant to today’s complexities and uncertainties. On view, visitors at the museum’s Eyal Ofer Galleries will find more than 200 sculpted works representative of the artist’s thought and creative processes, including a selection of works not often exhibited alongside iconic ones like the 1881 Thinker and The Three Shades, made in 1886.
