“The Flirt,” an exhibition of paintings by Joshua Petker, is now on view through June 5 at Anat Ebgi. Comprising large- and small-scale monochromatic paintings of blue, accented with punches of red, the show dives into the artist’s world of socializing and drinking, romance and music, and flirting. Inspired by a variety of historical paintings, Petker reshuffles art history and visual culture, resulting in his own mix of timeless perspective and emotionality.
