Through April 24, 2022, the Musée des Arts Décoratifs is presenting a major exhibition following the designer’s career journey, titled “Thierry Mugler, Couturissime.” Presented with the help of the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, the exhibition spans archival material dating between 1973—2014, looking at Mugler’s work across ready-to-wear, haute couture, and perfume, along with a focus on Mugler’s collaborations with his alter ego, Manfred. Visitors at the museum will find an expansive selection of garments, photographs, videos, and unpublished archives spanning collections like the 1995—96 20th anniversary collection, David Bowie dressed from the 1992 “Les Cow-boys” collection, and designs from the 1979 “Spirale futuriste.”
