Concerned with the ways history shapes our present, William Kentridge has used his artistic practice in search of answers for the last several decades. Working to make sense of the world and constructs of meaning, these explorations are continued in Kentridge’s current exhibition at Hauser & Wirth, titled “Weigh All Tears.” Open through May 29, the presentation (organized with support from Goodman Gallery) is the artist’s first solo show in Hong Kong and features new tapestries, sculptural works like the wooden Ladder Horse and a series of laser-cut steel heads, and the titular triptych—which measures more than 18-feet wide and features a suite of silhouettes set against a collage made from archival documents and maps of Africa.
