Harper’s Bazaar, First in Fashion.

The Musée des Arts Décoratifs celebrates the reopening of its fashion galleries with a major exhibition dedicated to Harper’s Bazaar. “Harper’s Bazaar, First in Fashion” sums up 152 years of fashion history, through the vision of  artists and photographers who contributed to the magazine’s unique style, from Man Ray, Salvador Dalí, and Andy Warhol, to Richard Avedon and Peter Lindbergh. The show is arranged chronologically and aims to emphasize Bazaar’s contribution to the evolution of the female silhouette. Viewers will find 60 couture and ready-to-wear pieces, sketches, photographs, and patterns, as well as a tribute to three major figures in Bazaar’s history—Camel Snow, Alexey Brodovitch, and Diana Vreeland, who initiated the modern aesthetics in both fashion and graphic design.
