Cris Worley Fine Arts presents “Wheel of Time,’’ an exhibition of works on paper by Robert Lansden. Fascinated with time, the artist produced 8 watercolor drawings exploring the infinite and cyclical nature of time for the exhibition. The exhibited series is inspired by ancient symbols, such as the Pagan Wheel of the Year and the Buddhist Kalachakra Mandala, in which internal and external cycles are depicted by inner and outer rings. Bringing together obsessive mark-making and reflective discipline, Lansden’s synergetic drawings are full of geometric patterns. These motifs resemble digitally generated graphics, and contrast with the warmth produced by each hand-made stroke of watercolor, applied via calligraphy pen.
