FOCUS: Marina Adams

Katy Donoghue

On view at Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth is FOCUS: “Marina Adams,’’ an exhibition showcasing a series of acrylic-on-linen paintings by artist Marina Adams. For the past few years, the artist has been dedicated to exploring the relationship between color and form through painting. Each of Adams’ paintings depicts biomorphic forms interlocking and outlined by solid fields of color, resulting in varied and unusual combinations and unique color palettes. A balance between organisation and improvisation, alongside inspirations from textile design and architectural forms are apparent in Adams work. “One of the reasons I allow my love of pattern to be predominant in the paintings is that pattern is a language that crosses boundaries. It offers common ground,’’ explained the artist.
