On February 28 in Los Angeles, Felix LA Art Fair returns to the legendary Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel for its momentous sixth edition. More than 60 galleries from across the globe will be placed into vibrant dialogue across two hotel floors—within guest rooms as well as cabanas encircling the iconic David Hockney pool.
Established and Emerging Galleries Intermesh with a Bespoke Dover Street Market
Established and emerging galleries will be interwoven at the fair, granting visitors access to a diverse lineup including Residency Art Gallery (Inglewood), Europa (New York), Monique Meloche Gallery (Chicago), Nina Johnson (Miami), Volume Gallery (Chicago), Luce Gallery (Turin), Ciaccia Levi (Paris), and Bradley Ertaskiran (Montreal). In addition, a spirited collaboration between Felix LA and premier international retailer Dover Street Market brings a site-specific store to the hotel’s vast ballroom space.
New and Returning Galleries from Los Angeles, to New York, to Berlin Present at Felix LA
New galleries debuting at the much-anticipated fair include Entrance (New York), Heidi (Berlin), and King’s Leap (New York). “We’re very happy to be included in the 2024 edition of Felix,” said Pauline Seguin, Founder of Heidi. “We’re looking forward to participating in our first U.S. fair and introducing Heidi to Los Angeles.” Represented by Heidi, artist Benjamin Lallier evokes the mystery of childhood and adolescence with hypnotic imagery in works of sun bleached velvet.
“Chris Sharp Gallery is thrilled to return to one of the art world’s most unconventional and exciting art fairs,” stated Chris Sharp, Owner and Director of Chris Sharp Gallery (Los Angeles). “We’re looking forward to sharing new work by Angeline Rivas and Tom Allen in Felix’s simultaneously relaxed and lively atmosphere.” Rivas’s surreal works of acrylic on canvas are embellished with neon hues and curvaceous movement, while Allen’s elusive paintings welcome a closer look into the decadence of mother nature’s bounty.
Artist and Sculptor Oscar Tuazon Unveils Beautiful Chaos at Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel
Artist and sculptor Oscar Tuazon was specially commissioned by the fair to both design and construct the bespoke Dover Street Market. Brimming with cutting-edge labels, the stylish boutique will celebrate art, fashion, design, and community. “Felix LA embraces discovery and spontaneity—both of which are key to the ‘Beautiful Chaos’ ethos of Dover Street Market,” explained James Gilchrist, Vice President of Comme des Garçons and Dover Street Market USA.
“Felix co-founders Al, Mills, and Dean have taken a completely new and innovative approach to the traditional art fair experience which is incredibly exciting and felt natural for DSM to be involved. We’re also honored to work with Oscar Tuazon, an artist we have admired for a long time, to transform DSM and incorporate the shop into his own work.”
