On November 17, RxArt honored Brian Donelly (also known as KAWS) with the first annual RxArt Inspiration Award at their annual benefit party. The non-profit organization creates comforting spaces based on the therapeutic potential of visual art inside pediatric hospital facilities. It works with contemporary artists to make site-specific installations to provide relief from anxiety and the pain of illness for children and families.
Co-chaired by Agnes Gund, Emmanuel Perrotin, and Honor Fraser, the event, which was held at The Altman Building, raised upwards of $600,000 through a silent and live auction led by Brook Hazelton. Notable guests included Bill Powers, Jose Parla, Erik Parker, and Ryan McGinness.
