There was definitely an influence of architectural minimalism at Yigal Azrouël, for its fall/winter 2014-15 show during New York Fashion Week yesterday. Set in the ever-trendy Soho neighborhood, far away from the tents at Lincoln Center, the designer sent a number of pieces in geometric shapes and sculptural silhouettes in cool, wintry hues down the runway for his latest collection.
It’s obvious Azrouël has an affirmed appreciation for the female form. The designer gives us a number of structured pieces that are delicately modern. Here we have a range of dresses with pleated skirts and tailored overcoats in luxurious cashmere and wool mohair. Ladies sportswear is refined with super luxe bomber jackets paired with relaxed cashmere trousers. A coated boucle chevron dress is made even cooler with leather sleeves and edgy zipper details. Black and white hues reign supreme this time around. This collection is perfect for the business minded woman set against a chic, New York City backdrop.
