Belstaff‘s fall/winter 2014-15 women’s collection, revealed at London Fashion Week last week, pays homage to the culture of the Manchester grunge scene with some tenacious looks. Detail to zippers, sleeves, and motif mash-ups of floral and plaid allowed the outwear collection to not only fight off the ill-minded winter chill fast, but to provide an edgy, urban style for the rebellious yet sophisticated strong woman.
Some highlights of the collection included trenches of a timeless caliber, as well as those with a double zippered contemporary touch. There was most certainly no shortage of shearling, crawling up the collars of long military coats and lining the inside of leather bomber jackets. Ribbed knit sweaters of gray paired with a classic gray wool jacket sprinkled with black patch pockets provided another warm option to its waxed leather sports counterpart, as well as a flashback from collections past.
The line was unified by the existence of florals on specific pieces, inspired by decoration on porcelain. Blacks, grays, khaki, and like shades created the color palette for this collection of glam durability.
