With fall being all about the rugged textures of furs, leather, shearlings, and wool, the silhouette of the Helmut Lang fall/winter 2014-15 collection, shown this week in New York, maintained that timeless look of simplicity with moments of bold patterns and abstract motifs. The season’s collection is composed of staple pieces such as pencil skirts, roomy trousers, flowy turtlenecks, and dresses with nonchalant glimpses of skin that produce that seemingly contemporary edge familiar to the designer, as well as the season.
With no shortage of outerwear pieces, oversized shearling coats, boyfriend blazers, and teddy bear furs mixed throughout, neutral solids and fiery shades of color coincided swimmingly.
