Gucci’s spring/summer 2015 show buoyed up a collection for the Bohemians, the jet setters, and the aristocratic sailors. Targeting the multifaceted Gucci man, the collection reaches out to the minimalist and the opulent, the eccentric and the nautical.
Creative Director Frida Giannini’s primary motif was the awning stripe as it cropped up on admiral jackets, ankle-length trousers, and cross-body bags alike. Sticking to this classic element, the collection limited its palette to white, navy blue, black, emerald, khaki, and red. Other emblems included a nautical insignia, which adorned a timeless ribbed sweater.

Accessories too looked back to the archetypal sailor as Gucci presented messenger bags in leather, crocodile, and canvas. The boating sneaker, of course, made an appearance alongside the resurrected horsebit loafer.
