Preen by Thornton Bregazzi released its stylish fall/winter 2016 collection over the weekend, debuting the new looks at Tate Britain in Millbank as part of London Fashion Week. The line added a punk rock twist to polished Victorian elegance, drawing inspiration from British poet Edith Sitwell and all-female rock band The Runaways.
Dark velvets and shimmering florals characterized the season, adding dignified charm to sensual, figure-hugging cuts. Ruffles of light, thin fabric were trimmed in black to create the illusion of springy ribbons floating around the models, while white fur coats wrapped around pleated leather dresses. Standout pieces included a blue-black floral dress with elbow-length sleeves and a shoulder wrap; a chic, high-necked brown velvet dress; and a lightweight lacy bodice with rose-print sequined pants.
