Luxury designer Reem Acra seduced audiences Monday evening with her exquisite fall/winter 2016 eveningwear collection. Inspired by her mother’s couture tastes and lithographs by Erté, Acra’s latest collection combined vintage glamour with modern sensuality, offering “a glimpse into the world of a femme fatale.”
Acra wrapped models in delicate lace and silk, creating tastefully intimate moments with transparent layering. Intricate details, such as bejeweled corsets and sequined embroidery, added to the elegant allure of the collection. Standout dresses included a short mermaid dress with a silver-embroidered bodice and teal silk fringe flares; a sleeved black silk and lace gown with saffron underlay highlights; a draped red silk dress with an Eden-esque lace bust; and a rippling charmeuse dress with waves of black embroidery and cascading peridot silk.
