Wes Gordon employed social media for the debut of his fall/winter 2016 collection, which he premiered on Instagram last Friday. Aiming to create a narrative around his work, Gordon unveiled the collection through a series of intriguing vignettes infused with New York imagery. Models swayed in elegant lace and fur at subway stops and urban rooftops, transcending aloof fashion culture to attract savvy audiences with accessible, but still glamorous contexts.
The collection included black and white slip dresses embellished with floral patterns, matching striped pants and dresses with mendled lace, and a rust-striped crossmink coat. Standout pieces included a black tangled lace dress with low-hanging sleeves and tasteful bands of denser fabric, and a pinstripe blouse set with white embroidered flare pants. A successful fusion of youth and sophistication, Gordon’s collection is currently available for pre-order at Moda Operandi.
