The red carpet at the Skylight at Moynihan Station sparkled last night at the 2016 amfAR Inspiration Gala New York, an event held annually to raise awareness of HIV/AIDS and funding for the organization’s research programs. This year marks the second of Harry Winston’s partnership with amfAR in an effort to develop a basis for a cure by the year 2020.
Notable guests last night sported the luxury jeweler’s pieces including Gabrielle Union and Valery Kaufman. In early 2016, Harry Winston introduced its Countdown to a Cure timepiece with 20% of retail sales contributing to the amfAR Institute. These watches were an addition to the featured menswear runway show at the gala.
During the black tie affair amfAR, honored Naomi Campbell and Kim Jones, Louis Vuitton Men’s Artistic Director for their support and contributions to the foundation’s mission. Since its inception in 2010 amfAR’s annual Inspiration New York gala has raised more than $26 million for scientific research.
