On view at Von Bartha is “TRAJECTORY,’’ an exhibition featuring a series of new paintings and sculptures by French artist Bernard Venet. “TRAJECTORY’’ showcases 8 paintings and 2 new sculptures, exploring the artist’s concept of monosemy and his interest in pure science as the subject of art. Most of the paintings in the exhibition are reflective of Venet’s commitment to self-referentiality, and recall his works from the late 1960s, which included mathematical and scientific texts and formulas. The exhibition also included 2 sculptures, Dispersion/Arcs, which explore the mathematical and philosophical implications of the line, alongside the dichotomy between order and chance.
