The latest exhibition at the Foundation Cartier pour l’art contemporain is dedicated to the work and activism of Claudia Andujar. The artist devoted her life to photographing and protecting the Yanomami, one of Brazil’s largest indigenous groups, over more than five decades.
“Claudia Andujar, The Yanomami struggle’’ was curated by Thyago Nogueira for the Instituto Moreira Salles in Brazil, and focuses on four years of research undertaken by the artist. Divided into two sections, reflecting the dual nature of a career committed to both art and activism, the exhibition brings together over 300 photographs, an audiovisual installation as well as a series of Yanomami drawings.
