David Zwirner has reopened its Paris gallery with an exhibition of photographs by Philip-Lorca diCorcia. The exhibition presents photographs from a series of 11 editorial projects that diCorcia created for W magazine between 1997 and 2008. Viewers will find some of the most iconic images from the series as well as photographs that have never been exhibited before. The images take everyday life as their starting point and involve a delicate balance between glamour and grit, imagination and irony. The series of images on view depict the artist’s critical engagement with and detachment from traditional genre expectations.
