“Raúl de Nieves: Eternal Return & The Obsidian Heart”

Curated by Risa Puelo, “Eternal Return & The Obisidian Heart” is the most extensive survey of Raúl de Nieves to date. Through creations like the artist’s mixed media figurine, Fina Guardian and the stained glass-reminiscent Autumn, the works on view offer a narrative surrounding de Nieves’s practice, which is fueled by his roots in devotional ritual, a celebration of queerness, and punk music, as well as memories of his childhood in Michoacán, Mexico.
