Verōnika

Located on the second floor of the photography museum Fotografiska’s six-story building is Verōnika and its quaint entry bar, Bar Verōnika. Inside, a dazzling atmosphere designed by Roman & Williams greets guests, at first with striking architectural details adorned in sky-high drapery, velvet booths, dimly-lit tables, and more. Complementing the interior is a continental European-inspired menu (with an artistic cover by famed photographer Ellen von Unwerth), complete with signature cocktails and several twists on classic dishes. Around each bend, unforgettable photographs by Elizaveta Porodina adorn the walls in large-scale frames, chandeliers hang in enormous proportions from above, Haas Brothers sculptures hold matchbooks on side tables, and waiters—professionally dressed in velvet blazers and suit jackets—are available at your every move.

“Everything from the updated culinary direction of the menu, the nuanced brand design, the immersive photography of Elizaveta Porodina, cover menu art by Ellen von Unwerth, and a sincere focus on exceptional service is a perfect complement to Fotografiska’s vibrant cultural programming and will also help make Verōnika live on its own as a distinct restaurant destination,” said Wyatt. “We believe that culture never sleeps, and as such we have also decided to keep Verōnika open until 2 a.m. to serve members and the public. New York City needs its late-night dining scene and Verōnika is a first salvo to bring back those indelible late-night moments that all of us New Yorkers remember and love.”

Whitewaller recommends: Not missing the Spring Greens on the side dish menu.
