Luar Gave the “Deceptionista” Center Stage for the Fall/Winter 2024 Runway Show

LUAR’s visionary creative director Raul Lopez gave the “Deceptionista” center stage for a mesmeric fall/winter 2024 ready-to-wear collection. Models donning over 30 multiform looks strutted down the runway with the utmost confidence, carving a path for a revitalized perspective on metrosexuality. The color black served as the infinite heart of the collection, giving way to rich brown, burgundy, and heather gray with celestial shine and lush texture. Paying a ravishing homage to Elizabethan-era dandies, nicknamed “strays” by Lopez, a parade of roaring volumes and patterns invoked the dynamism of masculinity then and now.

A deep-V sweater featuring a patchwork of earthy hues and geometric designs was also enhanced with padded, leather adornments; paired with textured brown leather pants, a sweeping gold watch necklace, and Edward Scissorhands-esque gilded nail jewelry, the look was a transcendent masterpiece. LUAR BASICS was also unveiled as an innovative line of fluid designs for all seasons and yearnings.

Puppets & Puppets Founder Carly Mark Unveils an Incendiary Collection in New York

Carly Mark, founder and creative director of Puppets and Puppets, unveiled an incendiary fall/winter 2024 collection overflowing with sensual patterns, textures, and silhouettes. In one angelic look, a translucent, ivory veil—intensified with a delicate floral pattern—was draped across the body, pooling just above the knees before soaring back upwards and divinely covering the head; an almost imperceptible slim belt cinched the fine material around the waist, while underneath, coral-hued shorts made way for umber tights and pointed black heels.

In serene opposition, a crinkled, shimmery dress in midnight blue with black floral print offered a high neck and towering slit which rose to the waist and culminated in a beguiling tie; styled with moss-colored leggings, a textured maroon over-the-shoulder bag, and swinging silver earrings, was a gorgeously haunting Puppets and Puppets creation.

Concept Korea Debuted a Modern Day Fairy Tale with CHARM’S, MMAM, and KIMMY.J

A modern day fairy tale was introduced by Concept Korea for the autumn/winter 2024 runway show. The forward-thinking designers of CHARM’S, MMAM, and KIMMY.J weaved euphoric day-to-night ensembles, from expressive patent leather ensembles to nature-inspired garments, to artistic juxtapositions. Creative director Yohan Kang of CHARM’S conjured passionate emotion as the protagonist of the latest collection, allowing ethereal silver jackets with otherworldly shine and luminous onyx tracksuits to evoke the heightened cinematic moments of daily dressing.

Designer Hyun Park of MMAM found energy in graffiti art as a point of universal human connection, and patterns of hypnotic movement washed across avant-garde suits, swimwear, and elongated dresses. Deeply inspired by technological innovation and emerging artists, designers Jenny Kim and Haeun Lee of KIMMY.J presented sweatsuits, structured dresses, and button-down shirts with burnished patterns seemingly worn by sun, smoke, and adoration.

Gabriela Hearst Invokes the Artistry and Insights of Leonora Carrington

The stunning and magical world of British painter and novelist Leonora Carrington, with her profound early insights into our dreams, imaginations, and primal desires, provoked a fantastical autumn/winter 2024 collection by Gabriela Hearst. In blissful shades of blue, white, camel, crimson, ebony, and gold, a multi-dimensional runway show unfolded of models seemingly floating atop a red carpet as contemporary goddesses of love and light.

A scarlet cashmere multiple yarn degradé fringe coat set the runway afire, with a matching fringe dress and scarf, along with chocolate calf hair boots, imparting surreal imagery of a glowing natural landscape. A recycled cotton linen and distressed denim coat featured billowing tulip sleeves, paired with a coordinating cashmere v-neck sweater, flared denim pants, and black calf western ankle boots, made for a surreal vision of ecology married with spirituality—producing enthralling, feminist style.

Cucculelli Shaheen Conjures Roman Mythology’s Goddess of Truth

Within the New York Supreme Court building, Cucculelli Shaheen unveiled “Veritas,” a dazzling Collection Seventeen conjuring Roman mythology’s goddess of truth for an unparalleled fall/winter 2024 runway show. Both rebellious and regimented, sprawling embroideries on glorious evening wear met with starry zodiac highlights, leading to visionary and unforgettable looks. In a virtuous fever dream, luxurious overcoats, bustiers, tulle petticoats, and celestial pajama sets offered a mystical aura for every cosmopolitan heroine.

A gracious palette of champagne, icy blue, powder, and gold was balanced with immersive shades of dark navy, green, and black. Layers of silk georgette, stiff tulle, silk Moiré, and wool were sculpted into flowing strapless dresses and sheer long-sleeve minidresses with hallucinatory geometric details, for a symphony of soft and strong in the city.

Brandon Maxwell Debuted a Sublimely Chic Collection at The Brooklyn Navy Yard

Brandon Maxwell ignited a powerful autumn/winter 2024 collection, which debuted at Brooklyn Navy Yard’s Duggal Greenhouse, with sublimely chic looks for modern prowess, from dawn to dusk. The deft layering of a heathered gray knit turtleneck dress and a mirroring long coat brought to mind the organic sleekness of stone. Paired with lustrous black leather boots and a tote bag, alongside gleaming silver earrings, it set a commanding yet earthy outlook for the day’s endeavors.

A glazed, tobacco-hued leather jacket and boots were styled with a silky black and white dress in an abstract pattern, suggesting serenity, stature, and sensuality moving into cocktail hour. A floor-sweeping dress in lively green was enhanced with a cascading leaf pattern, while a silver iteration evoked whimsical winds of joy and playfulness for a succession of cherished evenings.
