The Milan Men’s Fashion Week fall/winter 2024/25 presentations took place over the weekend, and we’re bringing you front and center for the latest from Prada, Gucci, Fendi, Missoni, and Tod’s.
Prada and Studio AMO Illuminate Our Primal Need to Stay Connected
Prada collaborated with research and design studio AMO on an immersive show that presented the interior of a contemporary office space grounded in mother nature, allowing the collection to illuminate our primal need to stay connected to the nourishing environment on all fronts. Surrounded by familiar cubicle spaces, attendees sat in desk chairs creatively placed atop a glass stage, revealing a sweeping canvas of lush grass, plants, and leaves below. Models walked the poetic runway in garments that were a keen reflection of the duality of our lives; exquisitely tailored suits and jackets flowed freely across the body, offering both ease of movement and pure style. Pops of color including blush and denim blue were artfully placed under earth-toned coats, while sweaters of sunshine yellow and coral red were juxtaposed with geometric belts and handbags. A parade of knit and newsboy caps evoked the softness and strength of the seasons, inviting us to embrace the infinite world at our feet.
Gucci Creative Director Sabato De Sarno Presents a Luminous Ode to Life
Gucci Creative Director Sabato De Sarno’s Ancora Manifesto collection for Fall/Winter 2024 was a luminous ode to the shimmering facets of our everyday lives—brimming with emotion and jubilant connection. An eye-catching, pea-green bomber jacket with dynamic pocket designs was paired with matching leather gloves and handbag, grounded with soft black trousers and silver studded shoes. Exuberant day looks continued with a navy sweater spotlighting an open collar of radiant jewels, situated gracefully atop baggy jeans. Sensual long coats grazed the floor in shades of cocoa and periwinkle, while ribbon-like scarves with chain detailing added whimsical movement. The sparkle of evening beckoned with models donning luminous leather coats, fringe jackets, and kaleidoscopic tanks. With Gucci, every moment was a celebration.
Best of Men’s Milan Fashion Week: FENDI Collaborates with Ma Yansong/MAD architects and Devialet
The FENDI ateliers offered compelling debuts inspired by lavish Roman style and cutting-edge technology—unveiling collaborations with Ma Yansong/MAD architects and Devialet engineers. The wonders of tailoring were on full display, with contemporary shapes highlighting the waxy sheen of all-weather cloths and the magnificence of Casentino blanket wools. The beauty of both city and country life was expressed in flat-front checkered skorts, leather Wellingtons, and classic trousers with minimalist pleats. Bountiful hues of forest green, burnt umber, canary yellow, and cornflower were seen in suede “corduroy,” trompe l’oeil shearling, and color-blocked knitwear. Partnership with Ma Yansong/MAD architects was revealed in an innovative Peekaboo ISeeU handbag and slip-on sneakers. FENDI x Devialet surprised all with a decadent handheld speaker adorned in an FF brown and tobacco case, proposing a moveable, symphonic feast.
Missoni’s Philosophy of Adventure for Daily Dressing Unfolded in Milan
For fall/winter 2024-25, Missoni showcased a philosophy of adventure for daily dressing unfolded in liberated silhouettes and effervescent zigzags. A wide-collared cardigan was highlighted in multiple, hypnotic patterns—made increasingly radiant in tawny earth tones or ocean blues—and presented as a luxurious layering piece. A sumptuous display of broken stripes and zigzag checks made their way onto lengthy double-faced coats, shirt jackets, polo shirts, and crewneck jumpers. Ravishing evening looks were veiled in the chocolate fondant brown and caviar black of glistening bombers, faux fur coats, and crystal embellished cardigans. The time-honored Chelsea boot provided the perfect transport for all occasions, and all ages—in quintessential Missoni style.
Tod’s Newly Unveiled the Pashmy Project—A Research-Based Bourney in Pursuit of Perfection
Tod’s newly unveiled the Pashmy project—a research-based journey in harnessing the highest quality materials of Italian luxury. The sleek Pashmy bomber—enhanced with a water-repellent and stain-resistant treatment—is the new go-to wardrobe staple, setting the day-to-day aglow in meditative shades of ice, teal, écru, and chestnut. Tod’s aviator-inspired W.G. boot energizes the road less traveled in plush suede, sheepskin lining, and a refreshing après-ski version in leather-trimmed sheepskin. The iconic Bubble Gommino shoe was unveiled in unique crocodile, supple leather, and long fur, while the urban sneakers were fit with stunning details of saddle stitching. Tod’s legendary Di Bag in textured leather or sheepskin—as well as refined versions in tan or black—was the icing on the torta.
