NYFW Kicks Off With Calvin Klein, Collina Strada, and More

New York Fashion Week kicks off with sensational shows from leading designers like Collina Strada, Calvin Klein, and Christian Siriano.

New York Fashion Week started with an explosive bang of fearless femininity, luxury lifestyles, iconic smooches, and powerful styling. Entering one of the most important weeks in the fashion industry, we explore the boundaries shattered by innovative designers Collina Strada, Christian Siriano, Khaite, and more.

Veronica Leoni’s debut with legendary label Calvin Klein connected to the roots of American beauty. The collection featured an array of capsule wardrobe staples like the suit, the silk blouse, the five-pocket blouse, and elegant square toed flats that added a touch of luxury to lifestyle. The collection flowed from structured, strict cuts to intricate embroidery and embellishments, evolving further into wild organza and fluid draping, balanced with a control. In true Calvin Klein fashion, underwear was a recurring theme suggesting intimacy and pulling from the aesthetics of the brand. The show took place at the Calvin Klein global headquarters in New York’s Garment District, filling the room with the spirit of the brand. “My goal is to define an ultimate and definitive expression of monumental minimalism and pureness through shape and craft, bringing Mr. Klein’s original vision and distinctive approach into the current day,” said Veronica Leoni

Altuzarra’s Fearless Fantasy

Altuzarra emerged with a new narrative this season, a confident woman unafraid of perception, facing the world wearing her history as armor. A long elegant cape paired with eye-catching balloon pants opened the runway, utilizing rich jewel tones and softer pinks and nudes to capture the love and losses of a woman. Details like broad shoulder pads were accentuated with a cinched silk waist draw from the romantic and chaotic eighties. Through this journey of expression pieces of Altuzzara’s personal life found their way in the collection through tortoise shell prints inspired by their own keepsake box. The memorable collection stood out with a toned down version of the “Origami” bag, and the new “Knot Basket” bag woven with straw and suede.

From thrift stores in New Jersey to the New York Fashion Week runway, the Collina Strada collection challenged all norms, entering a world of power and possibility. Playing with thrifted wedding dresses, the legacy of women was honored in the modern reworked garments. Turning men’s coats into soft fluid pieces with no waste, and no harmed animals, this collection successfully opposed all stereotypes with style. The show concluded with a charming kiss from two models, suited in their revamped wedding gowns. Beautiful textures, loud prints, and bold colors harmoniously created the unwavering story of Collina Strada’s Fempire.

Christian Siriano Takes the Wheel

Inspired by futurism and modern technology, Christian Siriano captured the luxury of auto design in his fall/ winter 2025 collection. Instead of masculine design within cars, Siriano showed curves and elegant shapes that emitted a sleek feminine feel. He translated this in the bold and luxurious colors red and black to mirror the perfect sexy red car, with the hottest sexy red dress. Experimenting with shape and texture, materials like steel, glass and leather are replicated in high fashion design. “Exploring new techniques and tactile fabrications that emulate raw materials like steel, glass and leather—the Fall collection sees sculptural silhouettes created in glossy oil slick vinyls and intricate abstract embroideries that emulate tire tracks.” said Siriano. His creativity continues to stand out, creating magnetic looks with sensational twists.

Khaite presented its fall/ winter 2025 collection on a circular golden glowing runway alluding to the yellow brick road. Creative Director Cate Holstein was heavily inspired by the late Director David Lynch, recalling his attraction to  The Wizard of Oz, and incorporating it into the whimsy of her new collection. She created sculptural garments forming the perfect balance of drama and luxury with glossy leathers and sleek furs. The everyday casual styling is elevated with sexy over the knee boots, and cropped collared fur jackets. Gorgeous fringe dresses that swayed with each step contrasted casual argyle sweaters beautifully. An air of high class, luxury, and impeccable style carried through the Park Avenue Armory, emphasized by the Massive Attack soundtrack.

In an intriguing collaboration with ECCO.kollektive, models stunted chic bomber jackets, patterned pencil skirts, and effortlessly cool jeans in the Eckhaus Latta show. The iconic label led by Mike Eckhaus and Zoe Latta, created their own leather to use in this standout collection made to be worn by anyone. These casual yet high fashion pieces paired perfectly with the ECCO.kollektive x ECKHAUS LATTA footwear. This collection turned heads with fresh takes on the Joke shoe, Helsinki boot, and scrunchy slip-on, all reinventing ECCO’s archival VIBRATION sole. A beautiful large spacious tote completed the ready to wear looks perfect for running any errand, or taking a stylish walk around the park.
